Your Belief Brought This Couple Back from the Brink.

For neighbors trapped in a vicious cycle of addiction and homelessness, breaking free can feel nearly impossible. Just ask Freddy and his wife, Stacy.

“We went from renting a house to living in our car to surviving on the streets for 10 years,”

“We lost friends to heat in the summer and to addiction all year round.”

By the time the couple met a Case Manager from our Street Outreach team, they’d almost lost hope. They figured he would forget about them soon enough. It never happened. “Every few days he’d check in on us,” Freddy says. “He just kept asking, ‘Are you ready yet?’”

When the couple finally hit rock bottom, they reached out to him, the only source of stability in their lives. Thanks to your kindhearted support, we were waiting with resources and community connections to help end their homelessness permanently.

Today, Freddy and Stacy are celebrating almost a year of sobriety. They’re starting their own business, have a place to call home, and are looking forward to a family Thanksgiving filled with blessings and hope. All because you refused to give up on them.
