The People on the Streets Are Our Neighbors

When people in need can’t get to us, we go to them.

Love Your Neighbors

Search and Rescue

Right now, there are more than 9,000 men, women, and children experiencing homelessness across Maricopa County. They want to move off the streets and change their lives, but they don’t know where to start.

Without the ability to travel or search online for resources, they can’t always get to us, so we go to them.

Spreading Help and Hope Across the Valley

Phoenix Rescue Mission has over 50 Case Managers doing homeless street outreach and providing rescue 7 days a week.

Most people on the streets no longer have IDs or other important documents that are necessary to apply for work or rent an apartment. Our case managers are trained to help them start that process and connect individuals with other resources that will help them begin moving off the streets.

Building Trust and Relationships

Sometimes, a person is ready for life-changing help at the first engagement. Other times, a case manager may return to the same location for weeks or even months, ministering to an individual and sharing basic needs while building relationships and trust.

Whatever the case, our goal is to help them understand that God loves them, that hope exists, and that life can look different from their current circumstances.

Thousands are Helped Every Year

Each year, the Mission’s Homeless Street Outreach team engages thousands of men and women on the streets and places hundreds of them in housing or recovery programs.

Encounter

Our Hope Coach vehicles hit the streets on Search and Rescue duty every day of the week. When they see someone in need, they’ll stop, introduce themselves, and ask how they can help.

Hope Coaches are Always Stocked with Hope Totes

Every day, our Street Outreach team hands out dozens/hundreds of Hope Tote hygiene kits!

A “Hope Tote” is a bag full of specially selected hygiene items that our neighbors on the streets need the most.
